Basketweave Scarf Teacher: Julie Montgomery
Tues. Jan 13, 20, Feb 3 7:00PM-9:00PM
Class limit: 6 Cost: $35 plus materials
This is our beginning knitting class where you will learn to make a basic Basketweave patterned scarf. This class is designed for someone who has never knitted before or for someone who would like a refresher class on knitting. You will learn to read a simple pattern, measure guage, cast on, bind off and learn both the knit and purl stitch.
Fingerless Gloves Teacher: Jeannie Edfort

Class limit: 8 Cost: $35 plus materials
This is a great class for someone who enjoys working on small projects and at the same time learning some new knitting techniques. While making these cute little mitts, you will also learn how to use double pointed needles, do a cable cast on, learn to make small cable stitches, do a picot bind off, and make a thumb opening. This is a great class for someone who is comfortable with basic knitting and would like to try something a bit more difficult.
Felted Slip-Stitch Knitted Bag Teacher: Julie Montgomery Tues. Feb 10, 17, March 3 7:00PM-9:00PM
Class limit: 8 Cost $35 plus materials
Slip stitch knitting is a method used to add color to patterns without carrying more than one strand of yarn at a time. In this class you will use this technique to make a small felted bag. In order to take this class you must know how to cast on and be comfortable with knitting and purling.
Classic Socks Teacher: Julie Montgomery
Tues. March 10, 17, 24 7:00PM-9:00PM
Class limit:8 Cost $35 plus materials
As sock knitting continues in popularity, this remains one of our most requested knitting classes. In this class you will learn the classic construction of socks, using double pointed needles. If you are comfortable with the basic techniques of knitting, come and enjoy the fun of making your own pair of beautifully hand-knitted socks.
Wrap Me Up Shawl Teacher: Darlene Umble
Tues. Jan 13, 20, Feb 3, 10, 17, 24, March 3,10, 17, 24 6:30PM-8:30PM
Class limit: 8 Cost:$15 per evening or $135 if prepaid, plus materials
This 20-hour class is being offered to anyone who enjoys working on larger projects and is ready to commit time to knitting both in and out of class. When completed you will have a beautiful sampler shawl and will have learned many new knitting patterns/techniques along the way. It will be a great time to make new friends while meeting together over a ten week period. This class will only run if there are four students who can commit to the 10-week class. Additional information with tentative lesson plans will be sent to you via an attachment. A shop sample made with Noro Silk Garden will be on display soon. Crocheted Scarf Teacher: Jeannie Edfort

Learn to crochet by making this simple crocheted scarf. In this class you will learn some basic techniques needed to start down the crocheting path. This class is designed for someone who has never crocheted before.
Crocheted Mock Aran Afghan Teacher: Jeannie Edfort
Tues. March 10, 17, 24 6:30PM-8:30PM
Class limit: 8 Cost: $35 plus materials
If you like the Aran afghan look but don’t know how to knit, this would be a great class to take. In this class you will be making a Mock Aran Afghan, forming a traditional looking aran pattern. In order to take this class you must already know some basic crocheting skills.
Beginning Rug Hooking Teacher: Peg Kauffman

Class limit: 10 Cost: $45 plus $45 materials
(material may be paid at time of class)
This class is a beginning rug hooking class where students will learn how to make a hooked rug from beginning to end. You will choose your project from three primitive rug hooking patterns. Your material fees will cover the total cost of the supplies needed to complete this project. You may bring your own frame or use one of ours for the duration of the class. A $25 deposit is required when taking the frame, and the entire amount will be refunded when the frame is returned. Come and join one of our most popular classes that is being offered here at OPW. But beware!!! It can be addicting.
Intermediate Rug Hooking Teacher: Peg Kauffman

Class limit: 10 Cost: $25
At the request of many who have already taken the beginning rug hooking class, we are offering this class for students who already have some rug hooking experience. You need not purchase additional class supplies but can bring any work-in-progress along with you, or start a new one. In this class you will learn new techniques that can add interest to your rugs.
Penny Rug Primer Teacher: Terri Leamer

Class limit:8 Cost: $15 plus materials
What is a Penny Rug? Come and take this 2-hour workshop and learn a bit about the history of Penny Rugs while working on a small project. You will start working on your own candle mat where you will learn the basics of wool appliqué, such as how to do a blanket stitch and how to apply a back to your mat. For those who want to learn more about this old craft of Penny Rug making, there will be a more extensive class offered in April. So join us now for this introduction and get a taste of this beautiful craft.
Rug Braiding Teacher: Marie Kurtz
Tues. Jan 20, 27, Feb 3, March 24 9:30AM-12Noon
Class limit 6 Cost: $55 plus materials
Learn how to make a beautiful braided rug. At the end of the class each student will have their own 2’x3’ braided rug to take home and enjoy. Prerequisite: Must know how to sew and have access to a sewing machine.
(Materials will include three yards of wool fabric, lacer and lacing thread. Cost will vary depending on the type of fabric selected. Approximate value $55-$60. BraidAids are optional/extra. $17.95.)
